Implants:
Dental Implants are generally considered to be the best treatment option for replacing one or more missing natural teeth. An implant is a biocompatible titanium screw, which is surgically placed in the jawbone. We are excited to now be able to offer Dental Implants to our patients as a way of restoring their smiles. While dental implants involve a surgical procedure with some inherent risks, the advantages to a patient are many. The success rate and longevity of dental implants are higher than most other dental procedures or medical implants (e.g. joint replacements). In an area where there is a tooth missing, the presence of a dental implant preserves the jawbone, whereas in a toothless area the bone will resorb away over time. Also, replacing a missing tooth with an implant will increase the longevity of adjacent teeth avoiding the possible need for other conventional forms of treatment such as a bridge or dentures in the future. The use of dental implants is truly a remarkable advantage to patients when considering their overall dental health.
Dentures:
Replacement teeth or dentures can be of benefit to a patient whether you are missing all of your natural teeth or only a few of your natural teeth. Dentures can be made to resemble your natural teeth in order that there will be very little change in your appearance. Dentures may even improve your appearance by giving you a more confident smile and may also fill out the overall appearance of your face and profile.
